Lewis Silas Jones
7th August 2000 - 8th August 2000.
20 hours and 10 minutes.
Lewis had Me his Mummy, his dad, big brother Luke and his sister Lauren who he has never met.
My water broke at 27 weeks and 2 days but did not go into labour till the next day.
When Lewis was born he was taken straight to SCBU (special care baby unit) as he was 13 weeks early
and weighing 2lb 4oz.
A few hours later i was informed that Lewis was poorly and that he had gained an infection called
Group B Streptococcus.
By early morning on the 8th August one of the SCBU staff came down to talk to me, i remember it
being around 1 am, and they needed to tell me that Lewis had took a turn for the worst and was
strugging to breath even while on the venterlator.
I then went up to SCBU and within the the hour i had him baptised.
I had never prayed so hard as i did over those last few hours but Lewis had Gained Pneumonia and
sadly passed away at 10.50am.
If it wasn't for my son Luke i'm not sure if i would have pulled through how i was feeling at the
time.
We had Lewis buried on the 18th August 2000. We asked everyone if they would make a donation rather
than flowers so that it could go to the SCBU to help all the other babies who are poorly and in need
of help, Some made donation and some sent flowers, we raised £240.

I think about Lewis everyday, wondering what he'd be doing now and what he would look like.
He's Always in my thoughts and forever in my heart and I miss him dearly.
I didn't get to be with my Little boy for long, so don't have many pictures or Precious moments, but
i do have my memories and they will stay with me till the day i die and hold him in my arms once
again.
